Amidst the wave of industrial automation, every instance of precision control is vital to efficiency and safety. The Fisher™ FIELDVUE DVC7K digital valve controller not only redefines control precision but also injects new momentum into the process industries through exceptional stability and intelligent capabilities. Whether delivering enduring performance under demanding conditions or ensuring seamless connectivity during digital transformation, the DVC7K leverages innovative technology to make valve control both simple and powerful.
1. Product Features

Based on years of industry experience, the DVC7K brings a series of revolutionary upgrades to meet the needs of customers on-site.

01. Advice At Device (AAT) Self-Check and Recommendation:

Thanks to triple upgrades in microprocessor, storage space, and interaction methods, the DVC7K integrates configuration, debugging, diagnostics, alarms, and action suggestion functions. This means that health status monitoring can be completed locally through the DVC7K. When an abnormal state occurs, the DVC7K will send an alarm to the control center, and the device will also display the current status via LED indicators, while simultaneously analyzing the cause of the abnormal state and providing appropriate action suggestions.

  • Microprocessor/Storage Space Upgrade:

Through the microprocessor upgrade, the DVC7K can collect and analyze large amounts of valve diagnostic data in real time. Diagnostic alarm information is displayed according to the NE107 status, and based on the current abnormal state, it provides possible causes of the problem and handling suggestions. Users can quickly troubleshoot using the suggestions provided on the device. At the same time, the DVC7K has significantly upgraded its storage space and adopts a first-in, first-out (FIFO) storage principle, allowing a large amount of diagnostic data and results to be stored locally, ensuring that effective information is not easily lost throughout the device's lifecycle and greatly improving diagnostic efficiency. The DVC7K also features a built-in backup battery for the clock, ensuring the accuracy and validity of captured data timestamps even in the event of a power outage. This is highly effective for analyzing and locating faults and for troubleshooting.

  • Upgraded Interaction Methods

The Local User Interface (LUI) supports full Simplified Chinese display and allows users to view various status information such as travel distance, travel setpoint, and temperature on the main screen via six buttons. Furthermore, device debugging and calibration can be completed quickly and easily through the LUI.

The DVC7K's built-in LED indicators visually display the NE107 status by changing between constant and flashing patterns in conjunction with LCD screen icons, facilitating the timely identification of problematic valves during field inspections. For example, if field inspectors notice a red light on a distant device, it indicates that maintenance may be required, allowing for focused inspection and resolution of potential hazards.

02. Flexible Connectivity
  • The DVC7K offers a variety of connectivity options, including local, remote, and Bluetooth.
  • Through Emerson's HART communication, users can quickly debug loops remotely or locally using various tools via on-screen buttons.
  • For customers without AMS or using PLC control, configuration and alarm viewing can be performed via Trex or any Bluetooth-enabled device (such as a mobile phone/tablet) or a local interface, reducing device connection complexity and safety hazards caused by opening the cover for debugging.
03. Continuous High-Precision Control

Through the application of multiple field-proven technologies, the DVC7K achieves continuous high-precision control of valves.

Precise and Sensitive

The DVC7K integrates configuration, debugging, diagnostics, alarms, and action suggestion functions. Its small closed-loop control design allows for rapid response to large step changes and precise control of small setpoint changes.

Linkless, Non-Contact Position Feedback

The high-performance linkless feedback system eliminates physical contact between the valve stem and the instrument, extending equipment lifespan. Furthermore, eliminating levers and linkages reduces the number of installation connections, lowering installation complexity. Since the feedback component remains connected to the push rod, instrument replacement and maintenance are simplified.

Special Coating

The DVC7K's coating resists the effects of vibration, temperature, and corrosive air. The all-weather enclosure protects the terminal box and critical components from harsh environmental conditions.

Easy maintenance:

The DVC7K features a modular design, allowing for the replacement of critical working components without disassembling field wiring or pneumatic piping.

2. Value to the Process Industry

For factories, the DVC7K, with its precise control capabilities provided by algorithms, can improve production efficiency and reduce raw material and energy consumption. Furthermore, DVC7K, guided by a large amount of data, enables predictive maintenance, eliminating potential valve safety hazards before problems occur, improving equipment availability, reducing planned and unplanned downtime, and enhancing factory safety and profitability. Past experience shows that predictive maintenance not only saves on equipment maintenance costs but also saves significant amounts on other expenses, such as equipment dismantling, hoisting, reinstallation, and labor costs, resulting in substantial overall cost savings for the factory.

Instrumentation teams can use DVC7K to achieve 24/7 uninterrupted valve monitoring. The rich diagnostic information provided by DVC7K increases valve visibility, easily identifying potential valve problems and defects, gradually shifting from experience-based maintenance to predictive maintenance, promoting the principle of repairing valves only when necessary while avoiding over-maintenance, and helping the instrumentation team transform from "firefighters" to "valve health consultants."

For operators, the DVC7K offers flexible connectivity and a user-friendly interface. Its fully Chinese local user interface and independent buttons make it incredibly easy to use, requiring virtually no learning curve. LED alarm indicators improve inspection efficiency, and Bluetooth compatibility further enhances usability, keeping personnel out of dangerous areas suchs as high-altitude/confined spaces and improving safety.

3. DVC7K Application Scenarios

The DVC7K builds upon Fisher's hardware foundation, validated with over 30 years of field experience and billions of hours of safety testing. Combined with powerful diagnostic capabilities, its typical applications include petrochemicals, coal chemicals, energy and power, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, papermaking, and water treatment.

China's first DVC7K has been installed on a control valve in a domestic power plant, improving usability by covering existing inspection blind spots. Furthermore, we have found the DVC7K to be ideal for factories with limited digital infrastructure, eliminating the need for expensive digital systems and enabling real-time monitoring of key valves.
